Job Description
We are searching for an experienced production leader!
This role requires strong communication skills, experience with multiple product lines, thinking ahead, problem-solving and an unwavering commitment to quality & customer service. Recognizing how the role we play in production influences a customer to choose our product over the next.
This is a leadership position that assists in making decisions on all aspects of Fresh Seasons Kitchen business. This includes new products, R D, equipment investments, and will lead the production and assembly aspects of our business. etc.
The ideal candidate has food production experience, loves winning, strong in problem-solving, solution-focused, detail-oriented, driven, self-directed, exhibits leadership qualities and excels at working as a key member of a team. The ability to multi-task while maintaining clear, positive communication (internally and externally) and adapting/contributing to this fast-growing organization, is essential in this position.
Essential Functions:
- Production Scheduling
- Team Training & employee development
- Lead production teams
- Assist in managing inventory and orders to ensure all components are ready for successful production
- Assumes personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while incorporating safety and health in all jobs and tasks
- Oversee regulatory compliance, including USDA
- Work in tandem with QA Director to ensure proper processes and training for teams' development
- Manage line equipment, employees and raw materials so that all are prepared to meet the production schedule by planning and anticipating production needs
- Identify problems, coordinate and facilitate meetings with appropriate groups as required to identify and implement solutions
- Supervise and manage employees by ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed, initiate disciplinary action and evaluate performance
- Conduct frequent line tours and adhere to standard work
- Ensure all paperwork is accurate, complete and on time
- Communicate with managers and other supervisors about status of employees and production
- Lead and conduct safety training and make sure all employees have required safety equipment
- Promote team environment and facilitate cross-functional teams to drive safety, quality and productivity improvements
- Ensure all policies, procedures and activities related to Food Safety & Quality are followed and complied with to reduce product and process variability
- Ownership for regulatory compliance with the FDA, USDA and Minnesota Department of Agriculture are a key responsibility in this role
- Performs other related duties and assined by leadership

- Previous experience with managing production metrics
- Track record of improved performance
- Track record of bringing new products to market from concept to delivery
- Experience with USDA and SQF, both preferred
- Must have a minimum of 5 years operational experience in a food production/manufacturing setting
- General technical knowledge and proficiency with ability to learn new systems quickly
- Experience with food safety and compliance regulators
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods and comfortable working in various temperature conditions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other platforms
- Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency
- Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
