JOB SUMMARY
The production supervisor oversees all activities of the production department including processing materials, and manufacturing and packaging products in an industrial manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations Plans production operations on a daily basis Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization Is familiar with cGMP's, standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data and submits same information to the Director of Production for quality assurance and/or storage Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Director of Production for action Works directly with Maintenance to ensure PMs and repairs are done when needed Support and lead continuous improvement efforts

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Directly supervises 35-50 employees in the Production Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, applicable laws and current Good Manufacturing Practices in the code of Federal Regulations. Responsibilities include; training employees, planning, assigning tasks, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, moving parts and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment can be from moderate to loud
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
USUAL WORKING HOURS
Monday through Thursday; 1:30pm to 12:30am Must be able to work extended hours with advance or no advance notice to meet production needs TRAVEL This position may be required to travel for educational purposes
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent 5+ years in Manufacturing / Production Environment Leadership / Supervisory experience
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Mathematical skills
  • ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Language skills
  • must be able to read, record and speak the English language Reasoning ability
  • must have the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form Computer Skills
  • must have knowledge of internet use; Microsoft Excel and Word Processing. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
  • must be able to obtain an industrial powered forklift certification Must have clear vision from twenty inches to twenty feet & must be able to identify and distinguish colors
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
