Position Summary The Manufacturing Cell Supervisor will manage all aspects of cell operations, driving continuous improvements in process, quality, and service levels while ensuring safe operations. This role is based in St. Paul, MN, and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing activities within an assigned cell, supporting team members, ensuring quality standards are met, and driving productivity and safety on the shop floor. The ideal candidate is a strong shop floor leader who enjoys coaching employees, leading continuous improvement projects, solving problems in real time, and ensuring work moves efficiently from start to finish. Essential Responsibilities Production & Daily Operations Proactively identify and implement continuous quality, productivity, and efficiency improvements related to cell operations. Lead daily operations within the assigned manufacturing cell or department. Coordinate workflow and assign work to team members to meet daily production goals. Monitor production output and ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time. Troubleshoot workflow issues and remove barriers impacting productivity. Develop, implement, and support systems to achieve quality improvements, productivity increases, inventory reductions, and customer service improvements: Assemble to Order, Build to Order, Kanban, New Technology, Automation Escalate equipment, staffing, or operational concerns as needed. Team Leadership Set and communicate expectations for employees; monitor performance and give recognition when appropriate. Take corrective action when necessary. Establish and implement training requirements and develop cross-trained multifunctional employees Recognize employees for performance that meets or exceeds objectives. Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance expectations. Foster an environment encouraging teamwork and accountability while maintaining strong morale. Quality Utilize quality management techniques for problem solving, corrective action, and process decisions. Understand and implement MFC Quality Management System, ensuring all products meet MFC quality standards and customer expectations. Identify and recommend error prevention methods to reduce variation in manufacturing processes, partnering closely with manufacturing engineering. Ensure compliance with defined standard work and consistency. Safety and General Foster safe work practices within the assigned area in accordance with MFC and OSHA standards. Address immediate safety concerns and report incidents promptly. Recommend and implement safety improvements. Ensure all team members complete required safety training successfully and on time. Ensure compliance with all Company policies and practices Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree 4+ years of manufacturing experience required. Previous supervisory experience. Knowledge or experience with manufacturing systems preferred (forecasting, MRP, SPC, labor) Strong understanding of workflow, quality, and manufacturing processes. Ability to lead a team and make quick operational decisions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated experience in coaching, facilitating, and mentoring capabilities
Accelerators:
Engineering or Supply Chain Degree Experience in Metal Fabrication, Hose Assembly, or Tube Bending Experience in Lean Systems / Process Flow Experience in Automation implementation Understanding of Error Prevention techniques Experience supervising manufacturing team members Physical Requirements Minimum 20% of time on the production floor. Ability to lift to 25 pounds occasionally. Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment. Pay $90,000 - $120,000
