Position Description The Engineering Supervisor oversees day-to-day engineering activities, ensuring projects and technical work are executed efficiently and in alignment with organizational standards. This role provides direct supervision, technical guidance, and performance management for a team of engineers or technical staff. The Engineering Supervisor collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate resources, resolve technical challenges, and maintain project momentum. This position balances hands-on technical involvement with leadership responsibilities to drive quality and timely delivery. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of engineering staff, including task assignments and workload management. Provide technical guidance and support across design, analysis, development, and implementation efforts. Review engineering deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards. Track project progress, identify risks, and escalate issues as needed. Collaborate with product, operations, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements. Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of engineering personnel. Enforce engineering processes, documentation practices, and safety requirements. Facilitate design reviews, technical meetings, and problem-resolution sessions. Monitor team productivity and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering workflows and execution. Required Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required. Leadership training, Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or advanced technical certifications preferred. 5-7 years of progressive engineering experience, including prior experience in a lead or supervisory capacity. Demonstrated ability to guide technical work and coordinate engineering resources across projects. Strong technical background relevant to the team's engineering discipline(s). Experience reviewing technical documentation and ensuring compliance with standards. Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills. Strong organizational and project coordination abilities. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve technical issues.
