This position reports to:
Integrated Product Unit Manager __ In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Automation Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operations on highly automated assembly production lines. This role ensures production schedules align with demand forecasts and service level commitments while optimizing automated systems performance, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining operational excellence. This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power inSENATOBIA, MS USA.
The work model for the role is:Onsite Key Responsibilities:
Automated Line Operations & Scheduling Ensure production scheduling and plans meet agreed-upon volume requirements and defined inventory service levels Monitor automated line performance metrics, throughput, and cycle times Optimize line sequencing and changeover procedures to maximize efficiency Equipment & Automation Systems Management Recommend automation equipment upgrades, system enhancements, and facility improvements Monitor performance of robotic systems, conveyor systems, and integrated automated controls Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure optimal equipment availability and uptime Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and minimize line downtime Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization Identify operational deficiencies and performance gaps in automated production lines Propose and implement Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma improvements Analyze automation data and metrics to drive efficiency gains and reduce waste Lead root cause analysis on production issues and bottlenecks Critical Issue Management & Escalation Manage resolution of critical equipment failures and production interruptions Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Operations) to restore line functionality Troubleshoot automation system issues and support technical problem-solvingRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education 3+ years of experience as a Supervisor, Team Lead, or equivalent in automated manufacturing operations Demonstrated expertise in high-volume automated assembly line operations Strong understanding of automation systems, PLC controls, and integrated manufacturing equipment Proven proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma Tools Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration abilities Experience reading and interpreting technical documentation and system specifications More about us ABB is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer for protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities at ABB.
