Description:
IMC Metals America is seeking a Production Supervisor to be part of a growing organization in Shelby, NC.
Summary :
This position is responsible for leading a team of 6-8 hourly employees on 12-hour shift rotation. Both the day and night shift operators will report to this role. The ideal candidate will monitor the operation of the equipment, produce high-quality products, and maintain a safe, clean and efficient work environment throughout the entire facility. The hours for this position will be 7am to 7pm with a 4x4 schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Proactively manages the shift to meet safety, quality, labor, scrap, efficiency and cost standards. Effectively communicate and coach crews to achieve shift/departmental safety, quality, and production goals for all plant processes. Demonstrate ownership of and adherence to facility and equipment standards Conduct performance evaluations as required Maintain good morale and adherence to standard work and safety policies. Conduct thorough shift exchange with both supervisors and operators Conduct routine housekeeping inspections and observe team behaviors to ensure consistency with standard operating procedures. Lead investigations into safety, quality, and production downtime events, determine root cause, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions Collect and analyze relevant production statistics. Develop knowledge of all machinery and their respective processes of each operation. Proactively manages the shift to meet labor, scrap, efficiency and cost standards. Verify time and attendance for direct reports, as required Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED Some college education preferred but not required Preferred prior Line 10 UpCast supervisory experience in a molten metal manufacturing or demonstrated leadership ability in a skilled operator or team lead position Committed to high level of ownership of safety, efficiency, and quality Demonstrated troubleshooting ability, strong work ethic and a sense of urgency Ability to coach, motivate, and hold employees accountable Ability to quickly learn technical processes and machinery to assist with real time troubleshooting and decision making for direct reports. Must be flexible to cover for counterpart during vacations or time off. Must be an independent person, learn the whole operation entirely including the water system. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required; must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization Must be able to work independently under pressure in a team oriented, ever-changing manufacturing environment Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
