Job Description

Sheet Metal Foreman position at a growing mechanical contractor that works on large commercial and institutional HVAC construction projects.
Job Summary :
The Sheet Metal Foreman directs and manages all on-site installation workers, subcontractors, and equipment, enforcing the company's direction, policies, procedures, and safety standards, while meeting installation deadlines. This position will require a "hands on leader" that will be able to supervise subcontractors as well as perform the installation of duct work and HVAC systems when needed.
Primary Job Duties :
Proficient in Sheet Metal/SMANCA standards Ability to weld grease duct. Understands the project scope of work sufficiently to plan, manage and execute tasks. Leads and directs people, equipment, and resources in the project scope of work, recognizes and adjusts to scope changes. Ensures efficient deployment and productivity of work crews. Engages in open communication with General Contractors and Project Managers and reports on issues that impact project plan. Works as a team member and leader to carry out project scope of work. Demonstrates proper use of project required equipment and tools. Organizes and coordinates the daily activities of all crew members, subcontractors, equipment and utilizes proper corrective action to keep the project on time and on budget. Identifies and executes best practices concerning the efficient use of construction materials, manpower and equipment. Plans work in an efficient and effective order, maximizing progress in a safe and timely manner. Reviews and adheres to construction schedules on a daily, weekly, monthly and per project basis, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met. Ensures company equipment is lawfully operated, cared for, maintained, and used effectively. Reads and interprets project plans and specifications. Operates equipment as needed. Assists project leadership with acquiring municipal, state, or federal approvals, including all departmental sign off's up to and including the final building inspections and Certificates of Occupancy.
Employee Supervision :
Monitors and manages employee attendance, ensuring the timely arrival and participation of all crew members. Delegates tasks and accountabilities, instructs, supervises, leads, and directs base crew.
Safety :
Promotes, executes, and adheres to the company's safety program, and encourages all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture. Reviews safe work plans/hazard assessments with crew prior to job commencement. Works with Safety Coordinator to investigate damage, incidents or near misses on the worksite, and ensures proper procedures are carried out according to the Company's Safety Program. Works in a safe and responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Ability to understand directions and read blueprints. Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately. Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade. Thorough understanding of construction principles and methods. Works well as part of a team. Mastery of time management, interpersonal and communication skillset.
