Job Title:
Assembly Supervisor Job Description The Assembly Supervisor leads, coaches, and develops a team of 15-20 installation employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role oversees daily truck body installation operations to ensure production goals of 10-15 completed trucks per day are consistently achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The supervisor coordinates staffing and workflow, partners with cross-functional teams to resolve issues quickly, and drives a culture of safety, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a team of 15-20 installation employees, providing clear direction and ongoing feedback. Supervise daily truck body installation operations to ensure 10-15 trucks are completed per day in line with production goals. Act as the floor leader for the installation department by setting expectations, monitoring performance, and driving accountability. Delegate work effectively based on production schedules, labor availability, and skill levels to maximize productivity. Coordinate daily staffing, assignments, and workflow to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime. Ensure all installations meet company standards, engineering specifications, customer requirements, and safety expectations. Partner with production planning, materials, quality, engineering, and other internal teams to keep work moving and resolve issues quickly. Monitor throughput, labor performance, quality trends, and bottlenecks, and take proactive action to improve results. Conduct audits and inspections of work in process and finished installations to verify compliance with quality standards. Train and mentor team members, support skill development, and identify potential future leaders within the department. Address employee relations issues, attendance concerns, performance gaps, and corrective actions in partnership with management and HR as needed. Track and communicate production progress, manpower needs, and operational challenges to leadership in a timely manner. Promote and reinforce a culture of safety, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement across the installation operation. Essential Skills Proven supervisory skills in a manufacturing or installation environment. Hands-on experience in truck body installation, upfitting, commercial vehicle equipment, automotive assembly, trailer manufacturing, or metal fabrication. Experience overseeing installation of components such as bodies, liftgates, shelving, wiring, hydraulics, doors, or other truck-mounted equipment. Strong automotive assembly knowledge and ability to apply it in a production setting. Practical automotive maintenance skills relevant to installation and assembly work. Ability to delegate tasks effectively and coordinate staffing and workflow. Strong focus on safety, quality, and meeting production goals. Effective communication skills to collaborate with production planning, materials, quality, engineering, and leadership. Ability to identify performance issues, address employee relations concerns, and support corrective actions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience conducting audits and inspections of work in process and finished installations. Experience in monitoring throughput, labor performance, and quality trends to drive continuous improvement. Experience training, mentoring, and developing team members and identifying future leaders. Ability to drive a culture of urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement within an installation operation. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing and installation facility focused on truck body and related equipment installations. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will spend significant time on the production floor, coordinating with installation teams and working closely with production planning, materials, quality, and engineering functions to keep operations running smoothly. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dunn, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00/yr. After 1 year of work they get 1 week of vacation and after 2 years of work they get 2 weeks of vacation. They match up to 3% in 401k and 50% match between 3%-5%. Holidays paid off except for Veterans, Presidents, MLK, and Juneteenth. Eligible for company uniforms and insurance after 90 days through United, colonial, Guardian Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Dunn,NC.
