Job Description
Job Summary:
The CTL lead will oversee front-line employees to ensure efficiency and quality in production operations for the CTL and rail operations. This is a frontline, working leadership role.Supervisory Responsibilities:
Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work assignments of employees. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.- Must have a flexible schedule. Must be able to lead 1st and 2nd shift production when needed.
- Be a champion for safety.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate the cut-to-length line in accordance with established procedures and production requirements.
- Train new operators on applicable policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Ability to adjust working hours to meet customer demand.
- Ensure all production requirements are fulfilled to meet on time delivery to the customer.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work with sales/maintenance to schedule necessary downtime for machine PM's.
- Ensure company policies, safety standards, and quality metrics are always met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills with a focus on team building and collaboration. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Thorough understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, and policies. Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.- Must have strong knowledge of steel defects.
- Strong analytical skills, to break down production data to find ways to improve.
