This role is perfect for a motivated, detail-oriented leader with a passion for craftsmanship, safety, and efficiency. As the guiding force on the shop floor, you'll ensure that all projects are completed to exact specifications, on time, and within safety standards. Your expertise in mechanical systems, blueprint interpretation, and woodworking will drive quality and productivity in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Supervise daily shop activities, coordinating tasks among team members to meet production schedules efficiently. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to guide accurate fabrication and assembly of millwork components. Ensure adherence to safety protocols by enforcing safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment for all staff. Utilize hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and machining equipment to cut, shape, assemble, and finish wood and composite materials. Conduct dimensional measurements and quality control checks using tape measures and other measurement tools to ensure precision in all products. Oversee materials handling, including forklift operation and proper storage of raw materials such as wood and composite materials. Train team members on proper use of tools, safety procedures, and manufacturing best practices to foster skill development and operational excellence. Requirements Proven experience in woodworking, millwork manufacturing, or a related trade with strong knowledge of carpentry techniques. Mechanical knowledge including interpretation of mechanical blueprints and technical drawings. Proficiency with shop math necessary for precise measurements and calculations during fabrication processes. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, tape measures, and machining equipment. Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently for materials handling purposes. Strong understanding of safety protocols within a manufacturing environment to ensure compliance at all times. Familiarity with composite materials used in millwork applications is a plus. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train staff effectively while maintaining high standards of quality control.
