Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor ensures that production of products meets or exceeds efficiency and company quality standards. In addition, the Production Supervisor ensures that facilities and processes conform to PLI standards by managing Quality Systems and documents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s) Plan daily workload in accordance with customer needs, material, machine and personnel availability. Review work order packets so that appropriate staff assignments can be done. Discuss daily plan with employees so they are aware of scheduled plan for the day and the sequence of their daily responsibilities. Check and verify running sequences throughout the shift to see if changes or modifications need to be made to minimize downtime on any machine and to keep work orders on target for timely completion. Verify throughout the shift that all required paperwork is being completed, and that quality and safety guidelines are being followed and maintained in accordance with PLI written standards. Verify with Master Scheduler that production will meet customer needs. Ensure that all scheduled work is being performed in the most efficient, cost-effective manner possible. Make Engineering Department aware of any changes to process (red line work orders).

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
High School Graduate or GED.
Required Experience:
Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
Computer Skills:
Average Microsoft Office Suite software knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Must have previously used a manufacturing system (Visual, SAP) on a regular basis.

WORK ENVIROMENT
Frequent exposure to production floor. Production floor environment includes safety-sensitive machine operations and warehouse equipment being operated. Noise level does not require PPE, except in marked areas. Airborne particle levels do not require PPE, except in marked areas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions. The employee may be exposed to dusty environments.
