Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with global centers of excellence in the USA, UK, and Germany, Akona works closely with customers across industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and chemicals. Position Summary The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role ensures safety, quality, productivity, and employee performance standards are consistently met while leading and developing a team of hourly production employees. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet output and efficiency goals Lead, coach, and develop hourly employees, including training and performance management Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing or workflow as needed Ensure product quality standards are met; address defects and rework issues Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including: Efficiency / throughput Scrap and rework Attendance and labor utilization Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate expectations clearly Partner with maintenance to minimize downtime and resolve equipment issues Maintain accurate production records and reports Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, etc.) Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred 5-7+ years of manufacturing experience 2-4+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflow Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, production-driven setting Computer skills (Excel, production systems, reporting tools) Bilingual - Spanish preferred Skills & Competencies Leadership and team development Problem-solving and decision-making Strong communication and conflict resolution skills Time management and organizational skills Ability to drive accountability and performance Strong safety awareness and commitment Work Environment This position operates in an industrial manufacturing environment and may be exposed to heat, noise, and heavy machinery. The role requires standing, walking, and working on the production floor for extended periods. Overtime and weekend work will be required based on production demands.
