The Senior Production Supervisor will not just manage production, you'll help shape the future of our bakery operation! Reporting to the Shift Manager, you'll lead the Finishing area, develop front-line leaders, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and influence key decisions that impact safety, quality, productivity, and team performance. Responsibilities Assign available staff to processes based on dynamic crewing models, skills, experience, and operational needs. Hire, onboard, and develop team members in accordance with company standards and training processes. Provide ongoing workforce planning and resource management support to the Shift Manager while directly leading the Finishing area. Manage team utilization, workload distribution, attendance, and overtime to ensure operational efficiency. Mitigate resource constraints by reallocating labor, adjusting priorities, and optimizing staffing levels. Serve as the Shift Manager in their absence, providing leadership and direction to Supervisors, Leads, and shop floor team members. Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. Enforce workplace safety standards, report incidents, and ensure compliance with cGMP and company policies. Ensure complex operational issues are effectively managed and resolved through clear action plans. Oversee process optimization and validation activities to drive consistency and operational excellence. Manage complex production deviations, partner with Quality and Engineering teams, and provide leadership and mentorship to Production Supervisors. Identify strategic process improvements through data analysis and implement change initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and performance. Communicate operational performance, challenges, and key achievements to senior leadership to support informed decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations, to achieve manufacturing objectives. Utilize the shop floor data system to drive performance, ensure data accuracy, and minimize downtime across production areas. Manage material usage variance and develop action plans to optimize yields and reduce overages. Qualifications Minimum 8 years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably within the bakery or dessert industry. Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing supervisors and production teams. Experience managing multiple supervisors and/or overseeing large production teams. Experience leading operations within a high-volume bakery, dessert, or food manufacturing facility. Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, workforce planning, continuous improvement, and process optimization. Knowledge of cGMP requirements, food safety standards, workplace safety regulations, and quality systems. Demonstrated ability to leverage data, analytics, and performance metrics to drive operational results. Experience utilizing performance management systems and operational metrics to drive accountability and performance. Advanced problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels. Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
