Superintendent I —Flatwork Division Heartland Concrete & Construction (HCC)

Location:

Omaha, NE The Superintendent I is the primary field leader responsible for successful execution of a single commercial concrete project or defined project scope in the Omaha, NE area. Oversees multiple Foremen and crews to deliver safe, on‑schedule, on‑budget, and high‑quality concrete construction in alignment with HCC standards. Coordinates daily operations between field crews, Project Management, and trade partners. Key Responsibilities Project Field Leadership & Execution Manage and supervise all on-site commercial concrete activities for assigned project(s) Coordinate multiple Foremen and crews; develop and execute daily/weekly work plans Ensure manpower, equipment, and materials meet schedule requirements; resolve field execution issues Production & Schedule Management Execute work to meet project schedule milestones and review labor productivity vs. budget Collaborate with Division Manager/Project Manager on scheduling, phasing, pour sequencing, and logistics Identify productivity risks, implement corrective actions, and support schedule recovery Safety Leadership Enforce HCC safety culture; ensure daily PTPs and lead jobsite safety meetings Coordinate with Safety Department on inspections and incident response Maintain compliant, organized jobsites Quality Control & Technical Oversight Verify QC processes prior to critical activities; ensure compliance with drawings and specs Oversee layout accuracy, installation tolerances, mix designs, and concrete placement/finishing Coordinate inspections with GC and third parties; ensure permitting (dig tickets, hot work, etc.) Communication & Coordination Serve as primary field contact with General Contractor; coordinate daily with Project Manager Lead subcontractor coordination, planning meetings, and communicate look‑ahead schedules Coordinate concrete supply, pump trucks, laser screeds, equipment logistics, RFIs, and document daily logs/progress in Procore Leadership & Workforce Development Mentor Foremen and lead men; teach field practices and build accountable crews Support workforce planning, reinforce HCC culture, and identify future Foremen/Superintendent candidates Qualifications 3-7 years commercial concrete experience, including managing large commercial pours Proven leadership of multiple crews OSHA 30 certification Strong blueprint and specification interpretation skills
