Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the day to day activities of plant operations following production schedule, raw material flow through processing and plant operations. The FD Supervisor will be responsible for managing the range within cost goals and producing adequate quantities to fulfill our customer's demands with a motivated and engaged team. This position is also responsible for making sure standard yields and standard lbs. per hour are met on each production work order. The FD Supervisor will be required to make sure that the workforce is trained properly and is trained to work safely. Primary Job Responsibilities Daily management of Freeze Dry, Freeze Dry Packaging and other operations Consistently manage daily production operations to ensure manufacturing protocols, product specifications, quality guidelines, and safety standards are maintained Maintain excellent communication with other supervisors as well as the Freeze Dry Manager to ensure ongoing changes and problems are addressed and resolved Responsible for assisting Freeze Dry Manager in maintaining proper staffing to support current and future production demands Key resource for making sure all daily paperwork is completed without error and submitted to the appropriate person or department in a timely manner Responsible for monitoring and reporting on variances regarding production operations Responsible for maintaining and developing talent
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs Frequent squatting, kneeling, stooping, and bending

Skills and Technical Expertise:
Highly developed project management skills. Basic understanding of accounting and financial statements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project, spreadsheets, Outlook. Technical knowledge of process, equipment, controls and products. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of team building. Driving Continuous Improvement Food safety and quality knowledge (Knowing what you can do to assure safe, high-quality food) Comprehensive knowledge of Food and Drug laws, OSHA requirements Preferred Experience Experience in a manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree or equivalent in technical, engineering, or relevant field will be an advantage 5 years' experience in a supervisor role Experience working in quality Experience working in safety
