A Production Plant Foreman works with the Plant Manager or Supervisor in scheduling the activities of the employees and team leaders. Meets regularly with the team leaders to communicate anticipated production sequences, to discuss potential production problems, and to provide opportunity for input on improvement of work processes and work flow. $85,000 - $100,000 per year Job Details - What You'll Be Responsible For Lead, manage, and direct the activities of manufacturing personnel across the plant. Own production scheduling and ensure manufacturing activities align with customer delivery requirements. Communicate production schedules, capacity, and current lead times with customer-facing teams. Help lead the hiring, development, evaluation, and cross-training of direct labor employees. Partner with area managers to ensure employees are effectively trained, evaluated, and utilized. Drive plant performance around safety, quality, productivity, cost, and on-time delivery. Maintain responsibility for overall quality and cost performance of serviced/manufactured rolls. Ensure products and processes meet applicable SPI and industry standards. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including LEAN, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), ISO, and related methodologies. Oversee assigned capital projects and plant improvement initiatives. Work closely with the Plant Manager to identify operational issues, establish priorities, and implement solutions. Collaborate with other company manufacturing facilities to improve plant efficiency and share operational best practices. Occasionally travel to customer sites and other company facilities as business needs require. What We're Looking For The strongest candidates will bring approximately 8-10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, ideally within pulp & paper or a related industrial manufacturing environment, along with demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience. We're particularly interested in candidates who have: Proven experience leading manufacturing employees in a plant environment. Strong knowledge of production operations, scheduling, quality, cost control, and operational efficiency. Experience implementing or participating in LEAN and continuous improvement programs. The ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities. An undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
