Position Overview:
The Production Control Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of production planning and quality analysis activities to ensure Subcom's manufacturing operations meet customer delivery commitments while optimizing capacity and schedule adherence. This role acts as the bridge between planning, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering, translating customer demand and project requirements into executable production schedules and Forecasts. The Production Control Supervisor oversees a team of Production Planners and Quality Analysis Technicians and is accountable for maintaining accurate production schedules, clear and executable work releases, managing priorities and changes, identifying risks to on-time delivery and driving corrective actions across cross-functional partners. Success in this role requires strong leadership, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate effectively in a highly customized, project-based manufacturing environment with long lead times and frequent change. This role will initially focus on execution support, production data integrity, and team leadership, with responsibility to expand over time to include direct ownership of production scheduling and planner management. This position reports to the Manager of Production Planning.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the development, maintenance, and execution of detailed production schedules aligned to customer project requirements, capacity constraints, and material availability. Monitor schedule adherence, WIP status, and critical path activities; proactively identify risks to on-time delivery and coordinate mitigation activities. Ensure planning data integrity and accuracy within ERP and shop floor control systems. Directly supervise and develop a team of Production Planners and Quality Analysis Technicians. Coach and mentor team members to strengthen planning discipline, problem-solving skills, and understanding of factory execution realities and constraints. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Production Control function. Establish and track KPIs such as schedule adherence, team throughput, and plan stability. Identify systemic planning and execution issues and lead root cause analysis efforts. Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts related to production flow, planning cadence, and factory execution. Collaborate with Production Managers on cross-functional continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications:
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Prior supervisory or team lead experience with direct responsibility for coaching, mentoring, and performance management required. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field or equivalent experience. Strong working knowledge of ERP systems. Oracle E-Business Suite experience preferred. Excel skills and strong data analysis capabilities are required. Strong communication skills is a requirement.
