Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for monitoring shopping, merchandise, grocery or sack lines, supervising Machine Operators (Collator Tenders), and Utility persons.Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with and enforce all safety policies and procedures, i.e.: proper PPE usage, machine guarding, etc.
- Ensure adherence to all quality practices and standards.
- Follow and enforce all GMP's and SQF requirements.
- Support and recommend improvement strategies to improve safety, production output, and quality.
- Serve as an assistant supervisor for assigned production area.
- Assign employees to production lines and ensure all machines are running on schedule and at production speed. Effectively communicate any deviation from standards.
- Monitor bags being run, making sure hourly samples are taken in order to inspect quality and catch any defects and unnecessary waste.
- Constantly provide feedback to operators in a clear and respectful manner.
- Assist in machine changeovers/order changes and ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure that machine cleaning is completed per cleaning schedule and adjust machines as needed.
- Submit accurate production and quality reports daily.
- Evaluate employees' performances and provide feedback to shift supervisor.
- Effectively monitoring training or cross training of employees.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management, including food safety.
Candidate Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2-5+years Machine Operator experience
- Prior mechanical or equipment maintenance experience highly desired.
- Prior experience with GMP's preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, bilingual highly desired.
