Job Description
Job Summary Logan designs, manufacturers, sells, and services high quality, precision laboratory instrumentation for the global pharmaceutical, biotech, contract, government, and academic laboratory environments. Headquartered in Somerset, NJ, Logan manufacturers (assembles) products in Somerset and in Shanghai, China. The Somerset facility is a small manufacturing plant and the global headquarters. The Logan Production Supervisor reports directly to the Production Manager and is responsible for managing daily manufacturing operations focusing on meeting output goals, ensuring quality, maintaining safety by leading production teams, scheduling work, troubleshooting issues, optimizing processes (like Lean Manufacturing), and enforcing safety protocols for on-time, cost-effective delivery of goods. Our facility is not currently
ISO:
9001 certified, but it is something we desire. We're currently embarking on developing improved assembly procedures, implementing inventory control, lean manufacturing, and other process improvements. Although our production team is small (approximately 10 people), the ideal candidate has experience working in a matureISO:
9001 environment. ResponsibilitiesStaffing:
Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained to keep lead times within industry standards.Inventory Control:
Keep a good record of parts in house and work with a forecast to request parts to be replenished in a timely manner.- Ship parts and products: Work with the packing personnel to make sure products and parts are shipped properly. Work with LTL Freight companies as well as FedEx and UPS.
Non-Conformance:
Create and process NCRs (Non-Conformance Report) based on parts that were rejected by our quality inspector.- Work with other departments: Production may be asked to help with different tasks in different departments. Please facilitate such assignments.

Production Manager:
Your direct manager will be the production manager. This manager may relay tasks to the production team through the production supervisor. The production supervisor will be the liaison between the production team and this manager.- Process incoming product and part orders: Support the prod.uction manager by processing incoming sales orders from the front office. Skills
- Minimum 3-year production experience.
- Strong discipline in document control and revision control.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Technical writing experience.
- Familiarity with hand-held inspection tools, gauges, calibration records, etc.
- Familiarity with 5-S and lean six sigma a plus.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A good attitude and ability to work in a high-paced, somewhat unstructured environment.
