NJ, BAMCO
inc. is an award-winning industry leader in the design, manufacture and erection of building envelope systems servicing the architectural, developer and general contracting communities. We specialize in engineering, custom fabrication, bending, routing, welding and finishing in all types of metals from aluminum, galvanized and stainless to the exotics with a focus on safety, green initiatives and Lean Kaizen principles throughout. Our primary markets are pharmaceutical, health care, industrial, institutional and high-rise office and residential in the northeast corridor for installation and we service all 48 states with design and fabrication offerings as well. We are seeking an experienced Working Shop Foreman to lead a busy, high-skill fabrication shop. This role is highly hands-on, leading approximately 50 shop employees while reporting directly to the Production Manager. BAMCO is a specialty metals fabricator. Experience running sheet metal or fabrication crew is ideal, but strong foremen from woodworking, stone fabrication, or custom job shops can transition successfully if they understand how a shop runs and aren't uncomfortable to lead from the floor. This is not a desk job. We need someone who knows fabrication, knows people, and knows how to keep work moving.
Shop Foreman Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prioritize, and run daily shop workflow Set clear daily production goals and keep jobs moving Adjust manpower and priorities as needed Ensure projects are completed safely, on time and per specifications Lead, train and develop shop technicians by working alongside them Be visible, available and engaged
  • Step in and get dirty when needed Enforce company policies and document performance and HR-related issues Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S standards for keeping the shop clean, organized and safe Other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing / production Proven ability to manage workflow, prioritize and meet deadlines in a production environment Ability to interpret and execute shop fabrication cards and drawings Proficient in the use of all carpentry, shop and power tools Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment Understanding of Lean and 5S principles Foreman Mindset
