Job Summary :
The Production Lead serves as the primary link between the Production Manager and Team Leads, ensuring production plans are executed effectively on the shop floor. This role coordinates daily operations, monitors production performance, supports Team Leads, resolves operational issues, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets. Key Responsibilities Production Coordination Execute daily production schedules established by the Production Manager. Coordinate activities across multiple production lines, shifts, or departments. Ensure adequate staffing, materials, equipment, and resources are available to meet production requirements. Monitor workflow and adjust priorities to maintain production targets. Assist in production areas, when necessary Assist with facility maintenance and overall cleanliness Special Projects (Production, Marketing, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Facility Build out) tasks, when necessary
Production Support:
serve as backup to production manager in areas where you can apply your expertise and problem-solving skills. Team Leadership Provide guidance, coaching, and support to Team Leaders. Ensure Team Leaders effectively manage their teams and achieve performance expectations. Assist with employee training, onboarding, and skills development. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Operational Performance Allocate and fulfill orders using our ERP system (Odoo) Ensure efficiency of daily work orders. Track production metrics including output, efficiency, downtime, scrap, and labor utilization. Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. Escalate significant operational issues to the Production Manager as needed. Support troubleshooting efforts to minimize production disruptions. Quality & Safety Ensure compliance with all safety policies and regulatory requirements. Promote a strong safety culture and participate in incident investigations. Verify adherence to quality standards, work instructions, and operating procedures. Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions for quality issues. Documentation Complete documentation to process Manufacturing Orders Track lot numbers of raw ingredients and super sacks
Policy Maintenance:
Support team with written policies and keep these policies up-to-date so that we can function efficiently in your absence. Continuous Improvement, Growth and Expansion Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in process improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Recommend operational improvements based on production data and observations. Encourage employee involvement in improvement activities. Bring new ideas for growth, productivity, efficiency and inspiration to the team. Qualifications Education Associates Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience 2-5 years of manufacturing or production leadership experience. Experience coordinating production activities in a manufacturing environment. Production, inventory, efficiency and logistics experience. Required Skills Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and writing skills. Ability to motivate and develop Team Leaders and production staff. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple activities simultaneously. Proficiency with production reporting systems and Microsoft Office applications. Working Conditions Fast-paced production environment. Physical presence on the manufacturing floor. Frequent walking and monitoring of production areas.
