C-P Flexible Packaging is a successful and fast-growing essential manufacturing company that uses an impressive array of digital pre-press and wide-web flexographic printing capabilities and extrusion and adhesive laminators to produce creative flexible packaging solutions for our customers. Our Buffalo facility is looking for a Production Supervisor for night shift (Sunday-Thursday 10:45pm-6:45am). In addition to the other advantages of working for CP, we're offering premium pay on top of a very competitive base pay, and bonus opportunities.
Job Summary :
This is a supervisory position responsible for the management of one of C-P Flexible Packaging's manufacturing shifts in either the Press or Finishing Departments.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities :
(includes, but not limited to) Oversee and direct all activities of the personnel assigned to their shift by walking the production floor consistently throughout the shift. Ensure achievement of quality, production, productivity and safety goals for department Maintain the accuracy and documentation of production reporting Assist the Scheduling Department in defining and maintaining work flow through the department Ensure adequate supply of materials for your shift's operation Oversee department manning requirements including vacation planning and coverage Oversee employee training Ability to use phone, PC (keyboard & mouse), and copier effectively Ability to communicate with others through both verbal and written communications (paper and email) Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP's) and any job or department specific SOP's. SOP's may cover the areas of (but are not limited to) Employee Health and Safety AIB and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured. SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP's. Other duties as assigned by
Management Supervisory Responsibilities :
Direct supervision of personnel on your shift Conduct employee evaluations Oversee disciplinary action, as required Oversee vacation coverage planning Direct staff personal development and training
Qualifications :
Previous manufacturing supervision desired, or extensive knowledge of finishing operations. Knowledge of flexographic/web handling and converting processes including printing, lamination (adhesive and extrusion) and slitting processes required Excellent PC skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are required. Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong presentation skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to define and solve problems dealing with many variables and limited standards.
Physical Demands :
(lifting X lbs., working at heights or underground, standing for long periods, etc.) Lifting up to 50 lbs (occasional) Standing for extended periods (consistently) Walking the production floor and to and from Presses, Ink Room and QC lab. (consistently) Ability to use phone, PC (keyboard & mouse), and copier effectively (consistently) Ability to communicate with others through both verbal and written communications (paper and email)
Working Conditions :
(travel, working hours, any unusual environmental conditions, protective wear required, etc.) Infrequent travel may be required for maintaining certifications, seminars, training sessions, vendor site visits, etc (occasional) Exposure to chemicals (inks, solvents), moving mechanical parts, extended noise, etc. may require the use of personal protective equipment; ear-plugs, safety glasses, gloves, etc. (consistently) Position may require interaction with customers for production checks, and suppliers/vendors. (occasional)
