Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of a Production Supervisor Direct and supervise production operations in order to meet or exceed Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory goals for the department and shift assigned. Coordinate production activities through planning with Superintendents and/or Plant Managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Follow Leader Standard Work and Daily Schedule. Support customer requests and work to identify and eliminate root causes to defective product. Ensure operators are trained and certified to perform tasks and objectives. Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives. Lead with integrity and in a way that earns respect and trust from operators. Ensure that operators are engaged, developing skills, and taking ownership of their responsibilities. Ensure the department is organized and clean. Implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing methods and tools. Qualifications and Skills of a Production Supervisor Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools. Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field is required; or combination of education and 1-3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with implementing Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred. Must be a well-organized individual that can manage multiple tasks and problem solve. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with both the direct and indirect workforce. Computer/MS Office skills. Should have working experience with the company planning and scheduling system. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Positive Attitude. Organizational and Leadership abilities.
