Role Description The CNC Lathe and Mill Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Depew, NY. This role oversees daily operations of CNC lathes and mills, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and ensuring machines are properly set up and maintained. The supervisor monitors production quality, performs in-process inspections, and enforces safety and quality standards to achieve defect-free parts and reliable delivery times. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding machinists and operators, troubleshooting machining issues, optimizing programs and processes for efficiency, and collaborating with engineering and management on continuous improvement. The role also involves training team members, documenting procedures, and supporting a culture of integrity, accountability, and high performance on the shop floor. Qualifications CNC programming skills for lathes and mills, including the ability to read blueprints and optimize tool paths. Hands-on machining skills, such as setup, operation, and adjustment of CNC equipment, with strong understanding of materials and cutting parameters. Teaching and leadership skills to train, mentor, and supervise machinists and operators in best practices and safety procedures. Experience in production supervision or lead machinist roles in a CNC environment, preferably in a high-precision OEM setting. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Ability to use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and interpret inspection reports. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or apprenticeship in machining or manufacturing technology is preferred.
