Job Title:
General Superintendent Job Description Oversee and manage day-to-day field operations across multiple HVAC construction projects. Supervise and coordinate sheet metal labor crews, foremen, and subcontractors. Ensure projects are executed in compliance with safety standards, project schedules, and contract documents. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and office staff to drive project success. Review drawings, specifications, and shop drawings related to HVAC and sheet metal systems. Order and track HVAC and sheet metal materials, ensuring timely delivery to job sites. Maintain a strong jobsite safety culture and enforce NYC DOB and site-specific safety requirements. Oversee work on commercial, school, and healthcare facilities. Perform site walks, inspections, and progress reporting. Resolve field issues and support problem-solving to keep projects moving forward. Responsibilities Supervise and manage daily field operations for multiple HVAC projects. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and office staff for project success. Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and shop drawings. Order and track materials for HVAC and sheet metal, ensuring on-time delivery. Promote and enforce a strong jobsite safety culture, adhering to NYC DOB standards. Manage work on commercial, school, and healthcare facilities. Conduct site walks, inspections, and provide progress reports. Resolve field issues and provide problem-solving support to maintain project momentum. Essential Skills Subcontractor management Commercial construction experience OSHA 30 certification Duct installation expertise Sheetmetal worker experience SST 62 Certification Minimum of 5+ years in commercial HVAC construction Experience managing sheet metal labor and installations Knowledge of sheet metal systems, fabrication, and field installation Experience in material ordering and logistics for HVAC projects Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Leadership, communication, and organizational skills Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with NYC construction environments and union labor Proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience with high-rise projects, including a 40-story building Work Environment This role is based on site, providing a hands-on environment where you will manage multiple projects across NYC. You will have autonomy and influence over field operations, working on complex, high-impact HVAC projects. The company is a stable and established HVAC contractor with a long-standing presence in NYC, offering a consistent pipeline of commercial and institutional work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodside, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $62.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
