M-Th 6:00am•3:15pm, Fri 6:00am•12:00pm
Starting Pay:
$18.50/hr•$22.00/hr
Summary :
Assist the Assembly Supervisor in the daily operations in the post-surface mount assembly process. Lead by example and ensure all preventive measures have been taken to produce the highest quality products in the area. It is also your responsibility to lead employees and assure all productivity and quality expectations are achieved.
Responsibilities/ Principal Duties:
Planning Lead by example. Must demonstrate positive attitude and communication skills. Excellent attendance is a must. Assist the Assembly Supervisor with planning and scheduling daily production based upon current and incoming work within the cell. Assure all manufacturing order build quantities are verified for accuracy and that jobs are built complete in one batch unless directed differently by the Production Manager. Report in process order status daily to the Assembly Supervisor. Accurately predict cell output within 1/2 day. Communicate as needed with the Assembly Supervisor and Production manager to keep production on schedule and achieve our goal of 100% on time delivery. Communicate staffing needs to Assembly Supervisor and work together to staff the cell appropriately. Communicate daily with material handlers on the priorities for job setup. Assure components are available to meet planned schedules. Continual Improvement Continually develop skills and provide training to cell employees where needed. Monitor all rejected boards to identify failure trends and report findings to the proper support personnel. Monitor scrap and notify the Assembly Supervisor of ongoing issues. Ensure that all applicable scrap parts are identified, sorted into bags and turned in to Lead Material Handler at the completion of each order. Improve quality in all areas of the assembly process, operate your cell with the premise that all cells following your cell is a customer. Production Inform all employees of the production plans. Get them involved to form a team effort to achieve the daily goals for your cell. Assist employees with verification and startups on all production orders within the cell. Throughout each day, periodically verify all in process production in the cell for accuracy and quality. Perform time studies. Log run times and communicate target times to employees for the product they are working on. Everyone is accountable for achieving target numbers. Recommend process improvement where needed. If a lot is rejected at inspection, the sort will be performed by the responsible cell. Performs other duties as assigned. Housekeeping Maintain a clean and orderly cell. (Production manager, Assembly Supervisor and Lead will walk the cell weekly) Interpersonal Skills Has the ability to sort through issues, gather data and make decisions. Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills, has integrity and high personal standards. Has initiative, can handle multiple priorities well. Knows how to recognize problems and conflict and respond in a positive, constructive manner. Good communication skills with Production Supervisor, Quality Manager, Process Engineer, Inspection, and other team members to resolve production issues. Priority is on quality of product and new improvements to process. Effective monitoring and development of training needs for team members

Education :
High School Diploma or GED Experience :
Previous 2•3 years' experience necessary
Physical/Cognitive Requirements :
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged standing, sitting, frequent bending, stooping and stretching. Manual dexterity is crucial in the placement and handling of small components. Good eyesight is necessary for performing detailed tasks. Occasional lifting will be required.

Training will be given in the use of production equipment.
