Job Description
Position Summary The production supervisor will train, motivate, and drive continuous improvement of manufacturing operations to achieve performance goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a safe and orderly workspace. Ensure any safety issues are addressed in a timely fashion with maintenance and actively champion safety programs. Work with Operations, Purchasing, and Quality to achieve organizational goals. Manage hourly team, maximizing output and minimizing waste. Maintain departmental day-to-day production activities, monitor and prioritize workflow and schedules. Conduct daily management of work area. Give technical direction, and/or engage proper help as required. Maintain a training log and improve training for each employee in the department, ensure that teams are cross trained. Actively participate in daily production team meeting. Work with maintenance to ensure machinery is operating efficiently and is safe. Work with team to suggest and implement process improvements. Assist in training and reviewing performance of staff. Ensure accountability and compliance to standards. Track and report on shift performance, to include corrective actions. Engage with HBD Business System and implement and uphold standards. Able to work second or third shift, and overtime as needed. Experience and Education Required Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or similar discipline OR Associates degree with 2 years supervisory experience OR 5 years supervisory experience Physical Demands The ability to use hand tools on a regular basis The ability to climb up onto and down from equipment on a regular basis The ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly on a regular basis The ability to stand continuously on a regular basis The ability to exert medium force occasionally up to 50 lbs., and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects The ability to work flexible and long hours HBD Industries is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
