Plant Manager SUMMARY:
MAJOR FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Superintendent is responsible for the complete production process of their shift. Coordinates the work force (both hourly and salaried) around reaching production goals within budget and with a high level of safety and quality. Evaluate, mentor and develop the staff using performance measurements based around through put, shipping performance, scheduled completion, and inventory accuracy. Establish and maintain open cross functional communication between Management, hourly Union employees, Quality, Safety and Maintenance/Engineering to keep manufacturing measurements in line with Company's vision and prioritiesEssential Functions:
Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, one or more of the following: Monitor production requirements and review daily production reports for all areas of manufacturing to ensure daily schedules are on target to meet product delivery Manage and provide support to supervisors regarding shift operations, quality, and welding; serve as liaison between departments. Prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment to meet customer's demands Champion initiatives to improve employee performance and create "Pride of ownership" with employees, validating the importance of their contributions to the business and its customers Oversee production quality efforts and address all customers issues as they arise Hold regular reviews with supervisors to keep communication open and review schedules, weekly events and manufacturing issues Influence people across the functional areas of the business to ensure that manufacturing, engineering, maintenance and quality are completely aligned with the overall business culture, initiatives, and strategies Continually improve safety records by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas Meet with the Union representatives to manage relations, contacts and resolve issues between the Union/bargaining unit and management Manage spending against the budget, controlling in relation to changes in production volume Other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:
50-60 employees. Hourly and Salaried supervision responsibilities in Production, Safety, Quality, Maintenance and Shipping/Receiving operationsCommunication Skills:
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, Company management and/or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, employees and customers in written or oral form, either in a formal or informal manner.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS
Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred, with a minimum of High School Diploma and equivalent work experience. Minimum of five (5) years of automotive manufacturing experience preferred. At minimum a strong proven knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures and machinery. Strong knowledge of welding processes preferred Must possess good communication skills on all fronts and must be someone that gets along well with other people, i.e., must have good interpersonal skills Must be able to portray good leadership abilities Must be able to work and deliver within limited time frame Must be able to work as part of a team on a regular basis Must have good analytical, problem solving, and organizational abilities Must be detailed oriented and pay close attention to accuracy. Computer literacy in Microsoft Suite of products. Must possess MRP/ERP experience Able to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems and discrepancies. As well as the ability to resolve such issues effectively and timely. Ability to work in both an Office or Plant environment with occasional exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold or chemicals. High Degree/Sense of Urgency is required along with prioritization and self accountabilityJob Type:
