Mansfield, Ohio Schedule:
Monday-Thursday, four 10-hour shifts; overtime Friday and/or Saturday as production needs require About Equiptran Equiptran is a Mansfield, Ohio manufacturing company with a small, experienced production team. Our manufacturing operations primarily include welding, fabrication, and assembly. We operate in a hands-on environment where quality, reliability, and meeting customer commitments are critical. Position Overview The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Equiptran's manufacturing facility. This position leads approximately 12-15 production employees and is accountable for organizing work, meeting production and shipping commitments, maintaining material flow, and ensuring employees follow established manufacturing processes. As a hands-on leadership position in a small manufacturing operation, the Production Supervisor is also expected to assist with other operational, facility, production, and administrative needs as reasonably required. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is organized, dependable, technically capable, and comfortable making day-to-day decisions on the shop floor. Key Responsibilities Establish daily production priorities and assign work to employees. Monitor production progress and make adjustments to meet customer shipping requirements. Supervise production employees, including attendance, productivity, performance, and accountability. Ensure employees follow drawings, work instructions, safety requirements, and established manufacturing processes. Coordinate material staging, movement, and availability for production. Oversee shipping and receiving activities. Address immediate production problems and escalate technical or quality issues when appropriate. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop. Coordinate equipment, facility, and building maintenance. Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training production employees. Ensure required production records and inspections are completed. Open and secure the facility as assigned. Work closely with the Quality Manager and the President to resolve problems and improve production processes. Provide hands-on support throughout the operation as needed, including assisting with production, material handling, shipping, facility issues, and other day-to-day operational needs. Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as reasonably required to support the Company's operations. Qualifications Manufacturing experience, preferably involving welding, fabrication, assembly, or similar operations. Prior experience supervising or leading production employees. Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions, and production documentation. Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound day-to-day decisions. Comfortable holding employees accountable while maintaining positive working relationships. Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP and production systems. Preferred Experience 5+ years of manufacturing experience. Previous supervisory experience in a small or midsized manufacturing operation. Experience with inventory, material handling, shipping and receiving, or ISO-certified manufacturing. Experience training and developing production employees. What Success Looks Like The Production Supervisor is responsible for making sure the right employees are working on the right jobs, with the right materials and information, so that Equiptran produces quality products safely and delivers them on time.
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
