WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
The Tooling Coordinator is responsible for assessing, researching, and managing all tooling requirements on the production floor. This role will collaborate with external vendors to evaluate, coordinate, and oversee tooling trials. The Tooling Coordinator will also analyze tooling performance to support continuous improvement initiatives, extend tool life, and integrate new technologies. Additionally, this position will monitor tooling costs and rebuild activities to identify opportunities for optimization and cost effective enhancements.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required. Conduct safety observations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required by our plant EHS program. Handle raw material in an environmentally responsible manner. Create weekly dispatch list from QAD and set-up sheets for ETQ. Maintain and stock job bins for setups and ensure production has all needed tooling. Pre-setting tools for Mills. Maintain adequate inventory of all tooling Supply Pro, Robocrib and Manual systems. Create Cost Saving reports Research and manage new tooling trials to create cost savings through extended wear and or cycle time reduction. Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operation of equipment. Maintains workspace before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles. Complete all paperwork correctly, legibly and honestly. Contribute towards continuous improvement processes and projects in the areas of output, quality, cost and delivery. Proficient in measuring using calipers, micrometers, height stands, CMM, etc. Demonstrate thorough understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T. Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Production Manager. Follow Saint-Gobain principles of conduct and action and exemplify the Saint-Gobain Attitudes.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
5+ years' experience Working in a manufacturing environment Required 5+ years' experience In CNC Machining related field Preferred High School diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred Computer and Math skills Strong understanding of Engineering drawings and GD & T Ability to navigate the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to strictly adhere to written and verbal instructions Maintain high attendance standards
