Job Description
Job Summary:
The Cut Floor Supervisor position is responsible for assuring all production procedures are followed throughout the cut floor process. In Operations, you would be on the frontline of the business, overseeing production, tracking product yields, and making necessary adjustments. Ensuring that safety, food quality, and USDA standards are met throughout all steps of the manufacturing process. Supervises production employees on assigned shifts to ensure production guidelines are being met within established timing, quality, yield, and cost standards. Trains, coaches, and leads production in the day-to-day operations to meet production goals and objectives, as well as results to effectively motivate the team to maintain high standards of product quality while maximizing plant efficiency. Directs the routine maintenance and set up of machines, equipment, and production areas.Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and guidance to employees on the Production Floor. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Assigns employees to positions after hire, along with training, planning, and directing. Appraises performance, addresses employee concerns, and assists with disciplinary actions and appropriate resolutions.Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bilingual is a plus). Able to lead problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with production and process issues. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to train, coach, and motivate employees. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Knowledge of pork processing, cutting, trimming, product specifications, and production flow is preferred. May be required to work long hours and weekends.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work around production equipment. Ability to work in cold, wet, humid, noisy, and odorous environments. Ability to work around knives, machinery, and moving production equipment while following all safety requirements. Ability to occasionally lift or move items as required. Ability to use a computer and complete production and employee-related documentation.Additional Expectations:
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Commitment to safety, quality, production, and company values. Maintain an active and visible presence on the production floor. Willingness to attend training and development programs. Ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, management, and other departments.Work Environment:
Plant environment includes exposure to both hot and cold temperatures (non-weather related). Noise level is generally moderate. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, with occasional lifting above 100 pounds.
