- Ready to Hire ASAP Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead our Welding Department on 2nd shift at our Toledo manufacturing facility.
This individual will be responsible for supervising welders, fabricators, and production personnel while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and schedule adherence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience leading welding operations in a high-volume manufacturing, heavy industrial, fabrication, automotive, steel, or metal products environment and be comfortable working significant overtime as business demands require. Responsibilities Supervise daily operations within the welding department. Lead and develop welders, fitters, and production team members. Ensure production schedules and customer delivery requirements are met. Monitor productivity, quality, and efficiency metrics. Enforce company safety policies and maintain a strong safety culture. Conduct shift startup meetings and communicate production goals. Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions. Coordinate staffing levels, training, and employee development. Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Production Management teams. Monitor welding processes, workmanship, and compliance with quality standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput and reduce waste. Complete production reports and shift documentation. Qualifications 3+ years of Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Welding Supervisor, or Team Lead experience. Experience managing employees in a welding, fabrication, metal manufacturing, automotive, or heavy industrial environment. Strong understanding of welding operations, fabrication processes, and production flow. Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with employee coaching, performance management, and scheduling. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with manufacturing reporting systems and Microsoft Office. Preferred Experience Automotive manufacturing industry experience is highly preferred. Experience supporting OEMs or Tier 1/Tier 2 automotive suppliers is a plus. MIG, TIG, Flux Core, Resistance Spot Welding, or Robotic Welding operations. Structural steel, heavy equipment, metal fabrication, or industrial manufacturing background. Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, or Six Sigma exposure. Experience in a union manufacturing environment is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience.
