Job Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the manufacturing workforce and maintaining a positive team environment. Responsibilities include planning and assigning work, production methods, operating procedures, working conditions, and employee relations. This position will work in collaboration with Maintenance, Shipping, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Quality Assurance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure effective employee relations and provide coaching & development
  • Evaluate employee performance and ensure all company policies & procedures are being followed
  • Report & track site KPI metrics and provide progress updates to manager
  • Provide a safe work environment and communicate safety first expectations
  • Responds to all Injuries/Accidents/Near misses and conduct related investigations, documentation, & follow up
  • Work with site HSE manager to ensure compliance with all Federal & State Environmental regulations & OSHA requirements
  • Responsible for training employees on the manufacturing process. This includes but is not limited to: machine set-up, complete line operation, proper handling of hazardous materials, clean out procedures, proper safety protocols, etc.
  • Assist in Production scheduling to meet customer needs & maintain inventory levels
  • Assist and support the Engineering team on Capital & Equipment related Projects
  • Participate with Human Resources in the hiring, discipline, & dismissal process
  • Effective written and verbal communication with all levels of the organization
  • Ensure Housekeeping & Organizational standards are being met
  • Conduct weekly Gemba walks and track action items to completion
  • Work with the Quality Supervisor and production personnel to create, update, & maintain work instructions, process requirements, & risks assessments
  • Comply with all PPE Requirements at all times & lead by example
  • Perform other duties as assigned by
Manager Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years of relevant Manufacturing Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve results
  • Understanding of OSHA requirements and Environmental regulations
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles & Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Conflict Resolution & Problem-Solving Skills
  • Computer proficiency required Working Conditions and/or
Physical Demands:
  • Will work in a manufacturing environment with temperature variation, high noise levels, dust, and odors
  • Position requires the physical capability to wear and safely utilize a respirator if required
  • Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Must be able to lift up to 55lbs at times Reports to the Plant Manager.
