Job Description

Polaris Windows & Doors is seeking dependable and organized Foremen candidates. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager at our Austintown manufacturing facility. A Foreman for Polaris Windows and Doors will work to ensure the productivity of daily window and door operations. This position will work closely with the management team to determine hiring needs, quality standards, deadlines for specific tasks, and safety protocols to enforce among production workers. Job Responsibilities The position will be responsible for essential job duties including, but not limited to: Ensure all company safety policies are implemented on their assigned production lines Maintain a clean and safe work environment for all line workers and production lines Communicate with line employees and administration to develop positive working relationships Maintain people, plant, machinery and equipment to improve efficiencies Control and report quality parameters by completing daily line audits and finished product inspections ensuring product meets industry standards Delegate tasks to lower-level managers and line workers. Ensure all employees are trained to work multiple positions on production lines Provide clear orders, including explaining complex information to line workers and discussing technical details with management. Instruct and train production workers Meet deadlines and ensure manufacturing orders are completed on time Track scrap coming of their production lines, and report it to the Purchasing Department. Treat employees with respect. Requirements Previous foreman or supervisory experience in the manufacturing industry Working knowledge of computer programs such as MS Office - Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Edge Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills Strong leadership, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills Ability to analyze issues and implement effective solutions Demonstrated understanding and application of 5S methodology in a production environment Familiarity with basic Root Cause Analysis (RCA) principles and problem-solving techniques Knowledge of Continuous Improvement concepts and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements Knowledge of ISO standards and their impact on manufacturing quality Exposure to basic Six Sigma methodologies and tools Knowledge of OSHA and other local and federal safety standards.
