Job Description

EP PRODUCTION LEAD
Reports to: Production Manager Objective of the
Position:
The assistant production supervisor is responsible for providing support to the production floor. The role is ultimately responsible for the production of baked goods on 2 production lines, product quality, completion of production orders, GMP and HACCP compliance housekeeping as well warehousing/freezer inventory. They are also responsible for the applicable production associates on their assigned shift. They monitor all production lines in accordance to the schedule, manpower, Quality Assurance, BRC/FSMA guidelines and safety requirements. Drive continuous improvement and engagement of associates to achieve world class results. ll.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for producing a quality product that meets all the Safety, FSMA/BRC, and Customer regulations Coach, counsel, train and develop associate's skills Establishes efficient production processes for all the company's product lines Ensures that all products are in compliance with QA and
FSMA/BRC
regulations Regularly work with other supervisors in methods of improving production processes. Prior to shift start, reviews production schedule with the line associates and keeps them informed of any changes in product, line changes, material availability. Complete shift huddle/communication/GEMBA walks with Supervisors and associates. Complete any and all applicable Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) relating to safety, downtime, material loss, etc Assures that all recipes, bills of material, labels, tools and equipment are ready prior to production start Inspects production lines regularly to assure that Good Manufacturing Practices are followed Makes certain that production areas are kept clean of waste, debris, and liquids to avoid safety hazards. Helps to drive and maintain a 5S methodology of sort, shine, set-in order, standardize and sustain. Takes disciplinary measures when an associate fails to comply with company regulations. Drive coaching of the team to eliminate behavior that willfully violates the company policies Responsible for making quality products that meet all the Food Safety, FSMA/BRC, QA, and customer requirements Ensures that at the end of the shift all documentation pertinent to production: materials, associate hours, and counts are accurate. Completes all required information tracking and data collection. Confirms all production into SAP system and double-checks accuracy of the information entered into the system. Pro-active response to down time and rapid shift and product changeovers. Drive continuous improvement opportunities around changeovers involving maintenance, quality and the operators on shift. Resolves quality problems with QA participation immediately Maintains effective communications between the Plant Manager and supervisors Identifies significant issues related to quality, safety, down time, production problems or any other unexpected issues As new products are introduced, the manager and the supervisors take a pro-active approach to learn everything about the new product and by comparison. Utilize KPI data to drive performance with associates. Lead and motivate associates to maximize productivity and minimize operating costs. Participate in and lead LEAN manufacturing activities as needed, kaizen, SMED, 5S, etc. Perform GEMAB walk throughs at beginning/end of shift with other Supervisors. Other duties as assigned

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience equivalent to:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or related field preferred. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
IV:
Experience/Knowledge/Qualifications and Skills:
1-2 years of supervisory experience in production, preferably in the food industry or manufacturing is required AIB certification a plus Working knowledge of computers, including MS office applications Willingness to work varied shifts, days, including nights (start-ups), weekends and holidays. (May be 2nd shift predominantly) Demonstrated ability to motivate and train associates within a team oriented environment Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision - position requires high energy and motivation and a strong desire to drive positive change Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills Strong leadership and team building skills Excellent communication skills Bilingual - English/Spanish is preferred Good communications skills, hardworking, dependable, safety conscious and bilingual Knowledgeable of FSMA/BRC and OSHA regulations Must be able to work standing or walking for long periods of time, bending and squatting occasionally, work in a fast-paced environment, and work in cold refrigerated and frozen conditions
