WHAT YOU'LL DO
The supervisor, production scheduling oversees the development, coordination, and execution of manufacturing schedules for the Muncie Power Products' Tulsa Machining Center. This role leads all scheduling activities and collaborates with manufacturing, engineering, and other cross‑functional teams to create, manage, and communicate production schedules while ensuring the accuracy of ERP data and capacity plans. The supervisor directs workflow across machining operations, identifies risks, and implements adjustments, including lot sizing, safety stock, routing changes, overtime, and outsourcing. The position also drives resolution of technical and scheduling issues through data‑driven, cross‑functional problem solving to optimize resource utilization and ensure consistent delivery performance. A central responsibility of this role is maintaining the integrity of ERP scheduling data. The supervisor, production scheduling leads and develops production schedulers, reinforcing strong discipline in data accuracy, schedule adherence, inventory control, and efficient material flow. Utilize ERP data and reports, analyzing material availability, production demand, and key variables to develop and maintain effective production schedules Use the ERP system to create and release shop orders along with any necessary supplements Work ERP system exception/action notices to align shop order supply with demand Plan, manage, and report on master and individual machine center schedules to achieve on-time delivery targets Monitor and reconcile daily production output against the schedule, identify gaps, and initiate corrective actions to adjust plans as needed Report on shop throughput and machine center utilization to support performance visibility Identify and mitigate future scheduling risks related to material, capacity, maintenance, tooling, programming, and labor Coordinate with materials, shipping, and support teams to ensure material readiness and track outsourced operations Work closely with the supervisor, inventory control to maintain high inventory accuracy and efficient material flow Other duties as assigned by the manager, master production scheduling
YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, logistics, or related manufacturing or technical field, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience in a manufacturing environment, may be substituted in lieu of a degree A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory experience a plus. Previous planning and scheduling experience in a fast-paced machining environment a plus. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including KanBan, SMED, and previous work in a Lean environment preferred
CPIM/CPSM
certification and/or Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus Aptitude for computers and experience with automated manufacturing systems (MRP/ERP) Experience with quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives, and strong manufacturing safety practices Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with above-average proficiency in Excel Solid analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with good mechanical aptitude Strong organization and planning skills, and attention to detail Good verbal and written communication skills Flexible to effectively adapt to changing conditions and job assignments Self-motivated with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
