Overview We are currently accepting applications and resumes for the position of Supervisor for our HLM Tillamook Division. Schedule would be Monday through Thursday. Hours may vary slightly based on needs of the operation. The person holding this position will be responsible to provide direct support to their department, getting all employees home safe, and continually improve the mills performance and housekeeping. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the production activities of the mill. Also, supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in manufacturing of lumber. Will set the example for crew members with regard to safety, will be an advocate for safety and promote safe work behaviors. Will correct safety performance and hold co-workers accountable to company safety rules. Ensure employees are trained on Hampton Policies and Procedures. Housekeeping will involve maintaining a clean and orderly work environment in all locations. This includes buildings, grounds, lunchrooms, bathrooms, and rolling stock. Will be a good steward for the environment to protect and enforce best management practices. Quality Will be goal oriented with the quality assurance function and all personnel that assist with that function. Will execute established standards for quality checks, at all stages of production and compare actual results against them. Will provide training to employees to help them understand how to perform quality checks accurately. Production Responsible for set production targets. Will keep accurate records of production and analyze trends. Will align customer commitments with safety, quality, value recovery, fiber recovery, and productivity. Personal Will lead by example to instill pride in the crew. Must be detail oriented, have the ability to review and evaluate data, strong documentation skills required. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office. Be team oriented. Will have a positive attitude about daily activities and project a positive image to the crew, while being a team builder and promote teamwork. Work with peers and contribute to the success of the company. Will be inquisitive and always looking for ways to do things better. Assist to seek out solutions, promote/support the team and/or individuals on the team rather than being self-promoting. Be willing to provide 100% support of team consensus decisions and to uphold confidentiality. Qualifications A minimum of three years progressive experience in a production environment and/or relative experience in a manufacturing setting. Additional Preferences Knowledge of quality control concepts and procedures in a modern sawmilling environment. Familiarity with a dimension sawmill.
