Operations Supervisor, Onsite Allentown, PA
JOB SUMMARY
Oversees daily manufacturing and warehouse operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety protocols, and strong employee relations. Leads a team, drives continuous improvement, and collaborates across departments to achieve operational excellence. Champions lean manufacturing and maintains compliance with company and regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBITIES
Team Leadership & Development Supervise, train, and coach associates to meet goals. Plan, monitor, and appraise performance, initiate performance management, coaching, and development. Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, engagement, and high performance. Guide teams on company policies and regulatory compliance. Promote teamwork and career development; resolve employee issues. Operational Excellence Execute production plans and schedules, ensuring timely, accurate order completion. Track, analyze, report, and implement corrective actions on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost. Optimize workflow, resource allocation, and equipment use. Oversee inventory control and accurate record-keeping. Implement SOPs, lean manufacturing, and 5S/CANDO systems. Identify and eliminate waste, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies. Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, HR, finance, and other departments. Execute Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) within normal working hours, focusing on proactive and preventative maintenance, maximizing equipment effectiveness, eliminating losses and engaging all employees. Verify equipment failures, breakdowns and malfunctions. Correct equipment failures and malfunctions within scope. Complete or approve e-Maintenance Work Orders. Safety & Compliance Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and maintain sanitary work conditions. Conduct safety training; evaluate understanding and competency. Lead 5 Why investigations into first aid, injury and near miss incidents. Ensure associates attend safety meetings and trainings. Champion plant safety and environmental standards (ISO, PPE compliance, etc.). Proactively prevent accidents and identify hazards through inspection and audit. Implement corrective actions to close safety observations. Identify environmental, health, safety, quality and maintenance trends; collaborate with shareholders and track to closure. Develop a general understanding of machine and equipment operation, troubleshooting and maintenance in assigned areas. Understand local, state, and federal compliance requirements for equipment and processes in assigned areas. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement Partner with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to resolve issues. Ensure adherence to SOPs, customer specs, and ISO/TS standards. Lead and participate in Kaizen, Six Sigma, and MDI activities. Facilitate process improvement events and execute plans. Encourage data-driven problem-solving and innovation. Communication & Reporting Conduct daily team meetings for updates and safety reminders. Maintain effective communication within and across teams. Track and report production metrics, downtime, labor hours, and inventory discrepancies. Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports. Report performance and improvement progress to senior management. Serve as liaison between production and support teams. Administrative & Compliance Manage overtime, vacation/PTO requests, and attendance compliance, ensuring that schedules are accurate and that payroll is approved on a weekly basis. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred). 3-5 years in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution operations (sheet metal/custom fabrication a plus). Demonstrated team leadership and development skills. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement preferred. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office; ERP experience preferred. Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting ability. Discretion with confidential information. Flexibility for extended hours, weekends, or other shifts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with laser cutting, welding, forming, and mechanical assembly. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude. Experience with lean manufacturing and improvement projects. Willingness for ongoing professional development.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typical manufacturing setting with high noise levels; personal protective equipment required. Ability to access operating areas via stairs/ladders and tolerate hot, cold or dusty environments. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, lift/move up to 33 pounds individually and perform repetitive hand/wrist motions. Ability to concentrate, analyze complex problems, develop solutions and make accurate decisions. Effective communication, active listening and teamwork skills.
