Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all production activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are consistently achieved. This role will lead production teams, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and manage daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demand and on-time delivery goals. Ensure all products meet established quality standards and specifications; partner with Quality teams on root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Lead, coach, train, and develop production staff, including operators, leads, and supervisors. Monitor and analyze key production KPIs including output, scrap, downtime, labor productivity, and OEE; implement improvement actions as needed. Allocate labor and assign work to maximize efficiency across production lines and shifts. Collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, and Maintenance teams to ensure material availability and equipment uptime. Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance standards; conduct safety observations and participate in incident investigations. Maintain and improve standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance. Champion continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies. Support budgeting and cost control efforts by managing labor, overtime, scrap, and other production-related expenses. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 3-5+ years of manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, and workplace safety regulations. Proven leadership and team development skills with the ability to motivate and engage employees. Strong communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution abilities. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in Excel or similar data analysis tools. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify bottlenecks and implement sustainable solutions. Physical & Schedule Requirements Ability to work regularly on the production floor, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to support multiple shifts, overtime, and critical production needs as required.
