Job Description:
PLANT OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR
Wattsburg Area School District is looking for a Plant Operations Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, manage a variety of staff classifications, and problem-solve complex issues.
Salary Range:
Minimum $95,000, commensurate with experience.

This position requires thorough knowledge in the following categories: General Construction HVAC Electrical Plumbing Grounds and Landscaping Housekeeping Water and Sewer Systems Class A fuel tank operator license Knowledge of transportation fleet management Good organizational skills Good management skills General knowledge of building access systems and security
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and administer schedules and procedures for the regular ongoing custodial care of all school and office facilities/grounds of the district. Plan, coordinate, and supervise all maintenance and repair work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. Plan, coordinate, and supervise grounds maintenance and gardening work of the district's schools and related facilities; determine the need for spraying, fertilizing, and pruning. Maintain schedules of work duties for each individual buildings housekeeping positions, and see that proper supplies are on hand in that building. Develop a plan of preventive maintenance. Supervise and recommend payment of all outside contractors performing work for the District. Keep equipment inventories and cost records of maintenance work. Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems and fire extinguishers on a regular basis. Establish and supervise appropriate procedures for locking and checking each District facility during hours when it is not in use. Coordinate with local, county, and state agencies on such items as possible health hazards, safety items, snow removal, sanitary matters, adequate water supplies, and fire protection. Work in conjunction with building principals and other supervisors to ensure that buildings are maintained and cleaned. Assist the business administrator in developing the maintenance and housekeeping budgets based on goals and administer these budgets. Train all new district employees according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) requirements. Oversee the maintenance and operation of sewer plant and potable water systems. Project, manage, and oversee all school district construction projects. Maintain building safety standards in conformity with state and insurance regulations. Create and schedule Direct Digital Control (DDC) system for all environmental and HVAC equipment. Track all fuel usage of Transportation service and District vehicles. Maintain all district vehicles according to state law and maintain a preventive maintenance program.
