Job Description The Production Supervisor oversees daily fabrication operations to ensure production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. This role is responsible for supervising production employees, coordinating workflow, enforcing safety policies, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Accountabilities:
Production & Operations Supervise daily fabrication activities including welding, cutting, forming, machining, and assembly operations Plan and assign work to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines Monitor production output, efficiency, and labor utilization Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions People Leadership Lead, train, and motivate production team members Conduct shift meetings and communicate production goals and expectations Monitor attendance, performance, and adherence to company policies Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations Safety & Compliance Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements Promote a strong safety culture and address unsafe conditions or behaviors Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements Conduct safety talks, inspections, and incident investigations Quality Control Ensure products meet drawings, specifications, and quality standards Work with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve non-conformances Verify proper use of tools, fixtures, and inspection equipment Materials & Equipment Coordinate with planning, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability Ensure proper use and maintenance of fabrication equipment Report equipment issues and support preventive maintenance efforts Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and cost Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Assist with process improvements, standard work, and 5S activities Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Knowledge/Experience Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (welding, cutting, forming, machining) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders Familiarity with production scheduling and ERP/MRP systems Understanding of quality standards and safety regulations Proven ability to lead and develop a team Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced production environment Directly supervise, train and develop a team. 3-5 years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, Required. Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly, Required. 4+ years of sheet metal fabrication or CNC operator Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. Tools include Trump, Accupress, Allen wrenches, grinders, break press, punch press, forklift, crane, shears and calipers. Excellent mechanical skills and aptitude in supporting CNC sheet metal equipment, the ability to visualize 3D parts from cut sheets. Good math skills and qualified basic computer skills. Self-motivated and able to identify, examine, and resolve issues independently from others. Hold a strong regard for guidelines, procedures, and integrity. Train and develop the team. Work Environment and Physical Demands This is a FLSA non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis. Overtime may be required based on production demands, including extended shifts, weekends, or holidays. This role is based on the production floor. The position requires standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and adherence to all safety and compliance standards. Mobility:
Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs. Manual Dexterity:
Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Lifting:
Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards. Visual and Auditory Requirements:
