Production Supervisor Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will supervise production employees in a manufacturing environment, plan and assign work, implements policies and procedures, and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. The supervisor has a hands-on leadership role in the company and the company's product-making activities.

Production Supervisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve results in all areas Works to continuously improve in all areas Provides regular progress reports to manager Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution Performs accident investigations Tracks absenteeism and timekeeping Accomplish manufacturing staff results by planning, monitoring, communicating job expectations and appraising job results; counseling, disciplining and coaching employees; coordinating, initiating, and enforcing systems, procedures, and policies Maintain staff by recruiting, orienting, selecting, and training employees; and developing personal growth opportunities in them Maintain workflow by setting process variables, monitoring steps of the process; observing equipment and control points; monitoring resources and personnel; developing reporting systems and procedures, studying methods; facilitating corrections to malfunctions, implementing cost reductions; initiating and developing a spirit of cooperation between and within departments Ensure operation of equipment by evaluating new equipment and calling for repairs of old ones Provide manufacturing information by sorting, initiating, compiling, and analyzing production performance data and records Educate and direct employees on the use of equipment, all control points, and resource Other duties as assigned

Production Supervisor Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Minimum three years leadership experience highly preferred Minimum three years in manufacturing environments highly preferred Leadership

Production Manager Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum of 5 years leadership experience required Minimum 5 years in manufacturing required Detailed knowledge of GMP's in a food production environment preferred Experience with process improvement methodologies and a commitment to continuous improvement preferred Excellent understanding of mechanical and standardized processes preferred High-level leadership and decision-making skills Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills Safety-conscious and knowledgeable, as well as able to balance productivity and quality Ability to communicate effectively in English and navigate conversations effectively in other languages Ability to manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with strong follow through

Production Manager Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

This role would require the ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally. This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 38 degrees Fahrenheit) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production-type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for duration of shift. Additional Details
