Job Description

MODLOGIQ
is seeking a skilled, certified, and dynamic Structural Steel Foreman to lead our fabrication and assembly teams. This is a first-tier supervisory role for a "player-coach" who can manage complex projects while setting the highest standard for welding craftsmanship and safety. The Role As the Structural Steel Foreman, you are responsible for the total execution of assigned projects—ensuring they are completed on time, on budget, and to specification . You will bridge the gap between management's planning and the crew's execution, taking full ownership of the Method of Construction (MOC) to ensure a seamless workflow.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision:
Manage, train, and mentor a crew of welders; assign tasks based on project priorities; and ensure teams have the proper tools and equipment.
Technical Execution:
Perform and oversee high-quality welding (GMAW, FCAW, SMAW); layout and align complex assemblies; and operate large cranes for material movement.
Quality Control:
Serve as the first level of QC by inspecting all finished work against blueprints and technical drawings to ensure 100% compliance.
Safety Mastery:
Enforce all company safety rules, lead "Tool Box Talks," and maintain a clean, orderly job site.
Coordination:
Collaborate with the Structural Steel Manager, Project Managers, and sub-trades to resolve roadblocks and maintain project momentum.
Reporting:
Complete daily construction reports, monitor welder certifications, and participate in project schedule meetings.
Candidate RequirementsExperience & Education Experience:
Minimum 5 years in steel fabrication with previous supervisory experience.
Certification:
Current
AWS D1.1
Certification is required.
Education:
High School diploma required (with strong math/geometry skills); Technical school or College preferred.
Technical Skills Blueprint Reading:
Advanced ability to interpret complex structural prints, AWS symbols, and technical manuals.
Mathematics:
Proficient in construction math, including geometry, to calculate heights, clearances, and tolerances.
Tools:
Proficiency with construction calculators, calipers, squares, and various welding rigs.
Physical & Logistical Requirements Travel:
Ability to travel to various sites to re-erect buildings, including occasional overnight stays.
Environment:
Comfortable working in loud plant environments and outdoor sites in all weather conditions.
Status:
Must be a US Citizen with a valid Driver's License and a clean professional appearance. Why Join
