Starting at $85,000 annually, with the potential for a higher salary based on experience We are seeking an experienced Nonferrous Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our nonferrous processing department. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for employee supervision, material quality, production, safety, inventory control, and the efficient processing of nonferrous metals. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of nonferrous materials, including aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, insulated wire, and other specialty metals. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily nonferrous yard and processing operations. Lead, train, coach, and hold employees accountable for safety, quality, and productivity. Oversee the sorting, grading, processing, storage, and shipment of nonferrous materials. Ensure materials are properly identified, separated, and prepared according to company and customer specifications. Monitor material quality and reduce contamination, loss, and inventory discrepancies. Coordinate employee assignments, workflow, and production priorities. Conduct safety meetings and enforce all company safety policies and procedures. Complete routine inventory counts and maintain accurate material records. Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance or repair needs. Operate forklifts, skid steers, loaders, or other equipment when necessary. Work closely with operations, maintenance, commercial, and transportation teams. Complete production reports, employee documentation, and other required paperwork. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist management with improving production, recovery, efficiency, and material flow. Qualifications Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a scrap-metal, recycling, manufacturing, or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of nonferrous metals and material identification is highly preferred. Experience with scrap sorting, grading, processing, inventory control, and quality assurance. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead a team while remaining actively involved in daily operations. Basic computer skills and the ability to complete reports and maintain accurate records. Experience operating material-handling equipment is preferred. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
