Job Description

Operations/Production Supervisor - Manufacturer, Located in the North Hills of Pittsburgh A leading, modern manufacturing firm based in the heart of the North Hills is actively seeking a motivated and dependable Shop Supervisor to join our dynamic and supportive team. In this hands-on leadership role, you will direct, assist, and support machine operators and production personnel to ensure daily production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality, health and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
Directing and coordinating shop floor activities to maximize productivity and product consistency. Assisting operators with setup, troubleshooting, and process adjustments; providing practical, mechanical guidance as needed. Coaching and mentoring production personnel to promote continuous improvement, teamwork, and a positive work environment. Becoming familiar with shop equipment, performing basic mechanical tasks and hands-on interventions to keep production moving. Maintaining a high standard of workplace safety, organization, and cleanliness, including enforcing lockout/tagout and other safety protocols. Working closely with the Quality Supervisor to address inspection findings, correct nonconformances, and implement corrective actions. Reporting to the General Manager with regular updates on production metrics, staffing needs, and equipment issues. Qualifications we value include a mechanical aptitude, prior supervisory or experience in a manufacturing setting, excellent communication skills, and a problem-solving mentality.
