$58,000-$65,000 per year Position Overview A growing manufacturing company in Reading, PA is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to oversee production operations and employees during the second shift. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for keeping production running efficiently while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and employee performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and be comfortable leading employees while also stepping onto the production floor to assist with machine setups, troubleshooting, process adjustments, quality issues, and other production needs. Key Responsibilities Supervise and provide day-to-day direction to production employees, including Process Technicians, Machine Operators, and Packers. Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and PPE guidelines. Monitor production performance and communicate machine efficiencies and production concerns to Operations Management. Ensure required quality checks and inspections are completed properly throughout the shift. Work closely with Quality Control to address product quality concerns and ensure products meet specifications. Coordinate with Tool Prep to ensure upcoming production jobs, tooling, and materials are prepared and ready. Support Process Technicians and Operators with troubleshooting, process adjustments, and production issues. Help improve production efficiency, reduce downtime, and minimize scrap. Communicate equipment problems and repair needs to Maintenance. Train and develop Process Technicians, Operators, and other production employees. Provide production coverage when necessary due to PTO, call-offs, or operational demands. Assist with machine setups and changeovers to reduce setup times. Perform machine setups from job to job, including mold, cutting die, and raw material changes. Make process adjustments to maintain product quality and recommended cycle times. Troubleshoot production equipment, including thermoforming machinery. Assist with preventative maintenance and ensure equipment and work areas remain clean and organized. Perform and oversee required product quality inspections. Ensure production and quality documentation is completed accurately. Ensure raw materials, tooling, and other production materials are available when needed. Perform additional duties as necessary to support production goals and overall plant performance. Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Previous supervisory, team lead, or production leadership experience preferred. Strong hands-on mechanical and manufacturing aptitude. Experience with machine setups, changeovers, and production troubleshooting. Ability to make process adjustments and identify causes of production or quality issues. Thermoforming or plastics manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively across Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments. Comfortable being a hands-on leader and assisting employees directly on the production floor. Basic computer skills and ability to complete production documentation and system entries. Ability to work 2nd shift and overtime as required. What We're Looking For This position is best suited for a hands-on production leader who can balance employee supervision with direct involvement on the manufacturing floor. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading a shift, troubleshooting production issues, supporting machine setups and changeovers, training employees, and keeping production moving safely and efficiently. Compensation Base Salary:
$58,000-$65,000 per year Final base pay will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and overall fit for the position.
