Job Description

MIXING SUPERVISOR PURPOSE
To coordinate, supervise, and measure the results of all employees within the department. To efficiently and productively utilize and train Mixing department employees to maintain quality of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise employees in a manner consistent with established policies to produce results, efficiency and output. Communicate effectively to maintain positive teamwork and employee relations while achieving production goals. Oversee training and development of employees with emphasis on progression through pay-for-skills and monitoring employee utilization in accordance with skill level. Coordinate production flow by preparing resources at the beginning of each shift. Complete forward planning of components and ingredients for next shift. Tie in with Make Up and Finishing Supervisors and Superintendents and other Mixing Supervisors. Respond to schedule changes and implement appropriate actions as needed throughout the workday. Monitor quality of work through observation, instructions and coaching of employees. Implement SOP changes, work orders, and daily quality review to eliminate errors and circumvent foreseeable issues. Oversee food safety tasks as required for foreign material control, sanitation, critical control point operation, GMP's and storage practices. Oversee tasks as designated for implementation and maintenance of the SQF Food Safety systems. Maintain emphasis on GMP's, good housekeeping, equipment cleanliness, and safety. Perform departmental positions as needed to demonstrate methods for improvement or to assist with workload. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time as needed. Prepare shift report, with a detailed, factual and tactful synopsis of the results of the shift, including identified areas for improvement and resolution steps. Review Maintenance, Material Control and Sanitation reports to determine areas of mixing accountability and develop solutions to resolve issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
2-3 years related manufacturing experience with emphasis on mixing. Supervisory experience and formal supervisory and/or leadership training. Proven ability to train, motivate and coordinate employees to attain objectives. Effectively assess employee performance. Develop and communicate areas requiring improvement and corrective action. Good organizational and communication skills, including interpersonal skills necessary to maintain positive employee relations and mutual respect with all support departments. Ability to properly lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving ability. Excellent attendance with a strong record of reliability and dependability. Thorough understanding of GMP requirements. Must be able to communicate in English (read, write and converse) in order to receive written and verbal job and safety instructions, comprehend hazardous material labeling, follow production schedule, and prepare graphs, weights and other production reports as required.
Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday 9pm-5:30am
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
