Role and Responsibilities Summary:
The Batching Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising the daily operations of the batching department to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient preparation of raw materials and production batches in accordance with production schedules and quality standards. This position oversees batching personnel, coordinates with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Planning teams, and ensures compliance with GMP, safety, and company policies while meeting productivity and operational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily batching operations to ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Assign, prioritize, and monitor batching work orders based on the production schedule and operational priorities.
- Ensure accurate weighing, measuring, and dispensing of raw materials according to approved formulas and batch records.
- Verify all batch documentation is completed accurately, reviewed, and entered into the ERP/MRP system in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by monitoring raw material usage, reporting discrepancies, and coordinating with Warehouse and Inventory Control teams.
- Ensure all raw materials are properly identified, staged, and available to support production schedules.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Enforce adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), FDA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring proper PPE usage and compliance with OSHA requirements.
- Partner with Quality Assurance to investigate deviations, non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving efficiencies, and increasing batching accuracy.
- Track departmental KPIs including batch accuracy, labor efficiency, material variances, downtime, and schedule attainment.
- Lead daily shift meetings to communicate production goals, safety topics, quality expectations, and operational updates.
- Train, mentor, coach, and develop batching associates to improve technical skills and overall performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend merit increases, promotions, and development opportunities.
- Address attendance, performance, and behavioral concerns through coaching and progressive discipline when necessary.
- Coordinate staffing levels, overtime, and shift coverage based on production demands.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Support new product introductions by ensuring batching processes are executed accurately and efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent. Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing and packaging company Knowledge of MRP, FDA, c
GMP, OSHA
safety requirements and Lean Manufacturing techniques are a plus. Must excel in a team-oriented organization with excellent interpersonal skills. Must have excellent leadership skills as well as technical competency. Must be able to perform all duties in a facilities environment that includes exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, inclement weather conditions, airborne particles, vibration, and hazardous materials. Must maintain a positive attitude and work effectively as part of a team.
Pay:
$65,000.00 per year
