We are actively seeking a Supervisor, Production Technical Services, Early Weeknights for our South Windsor, Connecticut facility. This is an on-site role where you will work 100% of the time.
Basic Purpose:
Supervise the Production Technical Support Department. Reports to Manager/Sr Director Production Tech Support. Job Responsibilities:
Provides direction and mechanical support to all production mechanics as required. Monitors all work in progress ensuring that a constant production workflow is maintained and equipment repairs are completed in a timely fashion. Maintains our parts inventory for all equipment by providing a complete list of parts to be ordered, including the vendor to be used and the associated cost for each part. Monitor records of preventive maintenance performed on equipment and ensures that the maintenance occurs according to scheduled deadlines. Keeps informed of all new technology and equipment used by the technical support and production operations departments. Fills in and assumes all Management responsibilities in the Department Manager's absence. Accountable to meet or exceed Cost Per Unit targets on his/her shift (i.e. labor costs, overtime, inventory control etc.) Monitors and maximizes machine throughput. Coaches, counsels, motivates, develops, supports, encourages and instructs all Technicians under direct report. Verifies all administrative work is filled out properly, monitoring and following departmental procedures. Reward, Recognizes and Disciplines associates. Maintains all records pertaining to department personnel under individuals report. Span of control, approx: 6-8 FTA's + 6-8 TE's and all production equipment used by technical support and production operations. Position requires daily communication/ updates with senior management on strategic work scheduling issues. Monitors daily reports on thruput and equipment downtime giving feedback to department personnel. May perform other duties/responsibilities as needed or assigned Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or Technical/Trade School 5+ years' experience and a proven proficiency in the operation and repair of production equipment. A proven proficiency in the operation and repair of insertion and bindery equipment, electronic and electric circuit experience necessary. Electrical and electronics repair a plus. Knowledge, understanding and experience of reporting tools Jet/IQ Experienced in Microsoft Office. 3 years' min. supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment Skills/Competencies:
Functional/technical skills Attention to detail Good oral and written communication skills Ability to take direction and to work under pressure due to time constraints as necessary Requirements:
40+ hours Safety Training Certification 40+ hours external Certified Training on related equipment 8+ hours Safety/Electrical Training 16+ hours Recertification as needed on any/all existing training annually Promote a professional work environment and adhere to all Broadridge's policies Shift:
EWN•Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Alt Saturday 6:00 PM to 6:00AM. Salary:
$72,000•$ 95,000 annually, depending upon experience•Bonus Eligible.
