Job Purpose Responsible for initiating and administering plant Quality Assurance initiatives. Ensures product design and processes comply with Corporate and Marketing standards. Trains and supervise quality inspectors as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist quality/engineering in design for manufacturing (DFx) efforts for Motive Power trays, layouts, components, and accessories. Support using AutoCad and/or Solid Works (Automation Projects, Plant Layouts, etc) Provide and support daily, weekly, and monthly Quality Audits, MMRs, and ESR's Monitor key plant operations / measurables and implement improvement actions to improve First Pass Yield, Process Flow, and overall productivity. Document Control Assist in gathering, organizing, and analyzing data relating to Quality or Engineering-sponsored projects…including prototype builds, new products, and new process introduction. Provide technical assistance, as needed, to members of the Sumter Metals Team Excel and SAP - Inspection Set-up, Inspection Data, Receiving Inspection, Purchase Requisitions, Cycle Counts, Scrap, and Inventory Adjustments. Will be engaged in EOS - Updating MDI Boards, Accountability Tags, 5S, 5 Why's, and Rapid Improvement Events. Determine Root Cause and Effective Corrective Action. Exists as a resource for all shifts. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum requirements for this position are: (1) a four-year degree from an accredited educational institution/or equivalent experience; and (2) one year of quality experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A four-year degree in a technical field/or equivalent experience. Metal Fabrication and Welding experience preferred.
